Original renovation ideas on the Internet are often either impractical or simply too expensive for most people. For example, the first lines of search engines contain materials that talk about a hammock bath. We are sure that there will be people who will order a bath from a British design studio, but how many of them are there?
We decided to collect 5 ideas for bathroom design – practical and inexpensive. Using these simple tips, you can get a modern bathroom without excessive financial investments.
1. Rectangular sink
More strict forms are one of the pillars of modern interior design. This also applies to bathrooms. Rectangular sinks are usually much more convenient and spacious. If oval sinks are mostly of one shape, then there are many, many variations of rectangular ones: rounded or straight corners, the angle of the walls can be chosen to taste, as well as the aspect ratio.
2. Tree
Yes, we definitely don’t need wet wood, but with proper waterproofing, you can avoid liquids coming into contact with the wood itself. Plank flooring is a timeless classic that can fit neatly into a bathroom with any color finish. It’s inexpensive and will bring a bit of natural flair to your bathroom.
3. Shelves next to the bath
This is a bit more complicated. It is clear that you shouldn’t store a switched-on toaster on them, but you will have to provide other partitions. An accidental splash of water can ruin your favorite book, for example. Otherwise, this solution is really convenient, and you can put out towels with gel, and a laptop with your favorite movie.
4. Simplicity and elegance
Blue, green, orange… Why choose colors when there are great options in black and white? Matte colors can be enough to achieve an elite effect. The plumbing itself is white, which will only enhance the effect. If you are not a fan of monochrome, you can always add an accent color in small portions – small red or dark blue lines will immediately catch the eye.
5. Plants
Firstly, it is useful. Secondly, it is beautiful. Plants can become that accent green (red, purple…) color. A great option for the bathroom is the spider plant, also known as Chlorophytum comosum. It is undemanding to light, grows well in a humid environment and looks equally impressive on the surface and hanging from the ceiling.
Bonus. If you want something truly original and ergonomic, British designers have developed Vertebrae, a combined system of a shower (two in total), a sink, drawers, and a toilet. Alas, the system does not fit under “simple” or “cheap” — you will have to pay more than a million rubles for this.
