Clients who contact a company for a design project are already more or less familiar with what it should contain. There is a lot of information on the RuNet about what a competent design project should be like and what it includes. And despite this abundance of information, there are moments that may escape your attention, because designers often neglect such seemingly trifles.
When ordering a design project , you will most likely order an electrical project that will list the specific number of lighting fixtures in each room and the number of sockets.
What kind of light bulbs and lamps will be placed in your home? Now we will explain why we ask all these questions. The stores offer a wide range of light bulbs of different power, energy consumption and the quality of light they produce. This is what we will talk about in more detail.
An excursion into history.
So, to understand what light or color lamps shine with, we need to delve a little into their history and look at the problems of “lamp construction” in retrospect. Let’s not take into account a history that is too ancient. Let’s consider the usual “Ilyich light bulb”, familiar to us from childhood. In those old days, there was practically no other alternative. Remember how that lamp shone? With a pleasant, orange-yellow light. This light is called “warm”.
The light temperature parameter is usually measured in Kelvin (and many modern lamps have this indicator on their packaging). The light of an incandescent lamp is approximately 2000-3000 K (depending on the power), white light is 4000 K, and “cold” light is more than 5000 K.
Modern lamps (LED and fluorescent) have different color temperatures, and depending on this, they can affect the interior.
Inconstant shades
Have you noticed that as the evening approaches, when switching to artificial lighting, rooms tend to darken? This happens due to the refraction of artificial lighting in the corners of the room. Everything seems clear and understandable here, and this is how it should be, but with the right combination of wall color and lighting, this can be avoided.
If you have green walls (light shades of green), then in warm light it will go into light green, pleasant and cheerful. But in cold light, it will acquire a shade of sea wave. And here it is up to you to decide what effect you want to achieve.
In addition to the fact that colors change their shade depending on the lighting, it is necessary to take into account the physiological factor. Warm light is perceived by our brain and is associated with morning or evening hours. Accordingly, such lighting is suitable for a child’s room, or, for example, for the kitchen. Because putting a child to bed is always a problem, and such light will set him up even before he goes to bed.
A tip for those who work all the time: if you spend your mornings having a cup of coffee and your evenings having dinner there, it’s best to create an atmosphere that matches the time of day with warm lighting.
If the apartment has an office, work area or desk for a school-age child, it is, of course, better to illuminate them with cold light so that one can focus and concentrate.
In other rooms, choose the type of lighting depending on the color of the walls. If you want to tone down the colors, choose cold lamp light. If you want to liven up and brighten the interior, use warm-light lamps. Don’t forget that matte walls will require more light than a room with glossy and reflective surfaces.
Since light has a direct impact on the human psyche, the main thing is not to overdo it. If possible, equip all rooms with dimmers, this will help you regulate the brightness of the lighting depending on the time of day and the environment.
